The Best Baked Oats

I’m a victim to Tik Tok trends. Not the dances, but the recipes (and the baby goats, because they are so cute!). I came across baked oats, and have found my new breakfast. They are healthy, they are cake like, and they are super customizable! I take the basic recipe below, and change it up based on what I have, or what I’m craving!

And it so easy - add to the blender, and bake.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats

  • 1/3 milk of choice (I prefer Oat or Almond milk)

  • 3/4 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional - sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t)

  • pinch of baking powder ( I literally don’t measure)

  • Splash of vanilla extract (I make mine - vanilla pods + vodka)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 small banana or 1/2 a large banana

  • Optional: honey, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, lemon zest, orange zest, peanut butter - anything you would put in your oatmeal, a cake, or cookies!

  • Toppings (add before you bake, but don’t blend - or do if you like): berries, diced apples, chocolate chips

Playing around with the oat/milk ratio or adding a bit of flour will give you anywhere from fudge-like to cake-like consistency.

Get Started

  • Add all ingredients into the blender.

  • Blend :)

  • Pour into buttered ramekin/baking dish. It will rise, so depending on the size of your ramekin you may need 2.

  • Top with berries, diced apples, chocolate chips etc.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes.

  • Baked oats should be firm.

  • Enjoy!
